Jeppe Nedergaard
Danish artist, b. 1979.

Jeppe’s first language was drawing. As a quiet and introspective child, he found comfort and strength in the pencil from an early age. Figurative expression came naturally to him, but in general Jeppe was fascinated with visual language and form.

During his youth, Jeppe became an active part of the Hip Hop culture in Denmark, which served as a creative playground. This period, Jeppe developed his interest in music and songwriting, leading to several releases. Later, he pursued a career in graphic design, which became his primary profession for several years.

In 2017, Jeppe began taking classes at Sønderjyllands Art School. This became the starting point, and art quickly developed into the focal point of Jeppe’s life and career. Today, he works full-time as an artist.

Jeppe works instinctively with figurative art, allowing motifs to emerge either from photo references or intuitively during the painting process. Lately, he has been deeply focused on crafting his own narratives that are inspired by inner balance and struggles.

With a distinctive technique and style, Jeppe creates multi-layered works that unfold in unique ways. Up close, they appear partially abstract, while from a distance, intricate figures and carefully balanced compositions emerge. His art often serves as a mirror, reflecting elements of his own psychological and physical traits. Through his work, he explores complex emotions such as isolation, anxiety, and resilience, blending them into a dynamic interplay between beauty and chaos, where time and place seem to dissolve.

Jeppe Nedergaard has gained recognition with exhibitions at Augustenborg_Project  (Augustenborg, DK) and SPACE Gallery (Kolding, DK). His work has also been commissioned by institutions and featured as cover art for Denmark’s most-streamed musician, Gilli.
